Wow! This is a very good set of questions. I think the bottom line is that everything needs to be text-driven or it is deficient as a textual sermon. My feeling is that a lot of preachers who say they are expository preachers really aren’t. They think they are because they use the Bible. The real question is how do they use the Bible in their preaching? These questions give safe moorings insuring that proper use of the scripture in preaching is being done. Thanks so much for making this public on this web-site. If this is what our students in seminary are learning we can expect great things out the next generation of preachers, providing they put it into practice.

Yes, I know David well from my trustee days at SWBTS. I knew him as a fellow trustee, then professor and now Dean of Theology there. He has good stuff that he shares. I shall look forward to it.
