On Dr. Randy White’s blog post, “Questions to Ask While Watching the ‘Son of God’ movie,” David Hanna commented:
I saw the movie, “Son of God.” The main thing that stuck out to me was that no mention was given to the Virgin Birth. As we all know without the Virgin Birth the house of Christianity for like a house of cards.

I saw the movie today. I was extremely disappointed. Your article is extremely spot on. I, overall, give it a thumbs down. The word “Sin” was missing as an overall message, that Jesus died on the cross to take away sin from us, putting it on him. The movie was more about Jesus interrupting the normal everyday Jewish lifestyle, so, they killed him. Not the best Jesus movie I’ve seen, that’s for sure. Things seemed to be out of order, not mentioning many things, etc.

On Dr. Randy White’s blog post, “Questions to Ask While Watching the ‘Son of God’ movie,” Jerry Smith commented with regard to Burnett and Downey:
If these two believe this, “Experiencing enhanced spiritual awareness through knowing yourself as a ‘Divine Being’ having a human experience,” them I feel sure they feel they have no need of a promised “Divine Savior” born of a virgin.

It is an interesting mix of Hollywood embellishments. Biblical Theology, Catholic Theology and Gnosticism (The way Mary Magdalene is portrayed). . It can raise questions for discussion. As with any movie, TV show or book, use wisdom, and discernment. The movie is also emotional, but the Bible trumps emotions.
