Podcast Episode 6

September 2, 2009

podcast logoThis week’s podcast is entirely given to discussion about the meeting last week of the Great Commission Resurgence Task Force, and about the public forum held before the meeting took place. Scott Gordon and I traveled to Rogers, Arkansas, and were present at the forum, and the rest of the podcast gang had the opportunity to watch the video from the event.

Come for the reflections and reactions, but be sure to stay until the 39 minute mark, where Tim Rogers gets so fired up that he accidentally cuts off his telephone connection. You’ll be glad you did.

Podcast Episode 5

August 27, 2009

podcast logoWe’re back with episode five of the SBC Today podcast. This time, I’m joined by Robin Foster, Scott Gordon, and Joe Stewart, and with a smaller crew comes a shorter podcast, this time coming in under thirty minutes. We were all over the place in terms of topics in this episode, from the President Obama’s health care initiative to Baptists in Romania to tornadoes in Minnesota.

You can listen to the podcast right from the site using the player below, or, as many folks have done, subscribe to our podcast in iTunes and have it downloaded immediately when it becomes available each week. Click the podcast image in this post or the link in the sidebar to be taken to our iTunes page, and while you’re there, give us a rating and/or a review. We’d appreciate feedback, which you can put in a review there, or in a comment here. Let us know how we can improve the podcast.

Below are some links to the items we discussed in this episode. See you next week on the podcast.

Podcast Episode 4

August 19, 2009

podcast logoWe’re back with another episode of the SBC Today podcast, and this time the gang’s (almost) all here. Only John Mann was unavailable at recording time. It did run a little bit long, but considering the number of preachers involved, it really wasn’t bad at all. We came in under thirty-five minutes.

We began with a discussion prompted by a recent article in USA Today by two scientists who argue for a harmonization of Christian conviction and the theory of evolution. We then moved on to talk about musical styles and what they reveal about a church’s theology before discussing the dissolution of NAMB’s North American Missional Task Force. We finished up by taking a look at an article by J.D. Greear on the Great Commission Task Force’s prayer website.

Thanks, as always, for listening to the podcast. You can do that here using the built-in player, or you can subscribe in iTunes by clicking the logo. Feel free to comment here with suggestions for how we can improve, and help us out by rating us and/or leaving a review on our iTunes page.
