And Now There Are Three

According to the Florida Baptist Witness Dr. Ted Traylor has now announced he will allow his name to be placed before the convention for President.  Dr. Traylor has been Pastor of Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida for the past 20 years.  Olive Baptist gives over 10% of their undesignated funds to CP and they also receive offerings for Lottie Moon and Annie Armstrong.  Dr. Ed Litton announced he would be making the nomination.  This race just became even more interesting.

  2. Norman says:

He has led his church to give 10 percent to CP. Unfortunately, it started at 20 percent. Sounds like the best way to make a million dollars in the stock market: start with two million.

  3. Bill Kraft says:

I might drive to Orlando just to vote against Dr. Traylor.

  4. Chris says:

Unfortunately a short article doesn’t do justice to the man or the church that he leads.
Prior to Dr. Traylor coming to Olive, Olive wasn’t involved in missions ventures other than the CP.
Since Dr. Traylor came to Olive, while keeping the giving to the CP at 10% or above, monies have also been spent sending missions teams to numerous countries. Olive has helped to plant churches in Cleveland and San Diego, helped to fund a college overseas and numerous other ventures that don’t show up in the CP.
Olive has also begun construction of a ministry village in Pensacola.

Giving to the CP is an important part of being a SB church, and under Dr. Traylor’s leadership Olive has maintained giving consistently while many others have not.

Mr. Kraft, when you drive to Orlando to vote against Dr. Traylor, at least look at the other candidates and apply your same discriminating view to them.

    Jimmy Jackson – 4.64%
    Bryant Wright – 5%

  5. Bill Kraft says:

Don’t care about CP. I will vote against him because of the type of person he his.

  6. Chris says:

And I would ask you – what kind of person is he?
    Do you know him personally?
