Excellent podcast, and thoughtful understanding by Dr. Caner of the situation.
Blessings..

Is it possible for Dr. Caner to debate Mr. White so that this controversy might come to an end?
Thanks for the interview with Dr. Caner. It was nice to hear that he has formally apologized to Dr. Rankin. It takes a lot to admit fault in a situation like that. However I think there may still be a need for an apology to SEBTS students and staff. I am a student in the MDIV church planting and not once in three years has the CM ever been mentioned as a viable option for ministry and EV. Nor have any of the SEBTS students serving on the field ever mentioned using the CM. They in turn talk about the negatives of the method. In classes we have talked about the method only in as much as we can learn from its mistakes. It still remains sad that people from SEBTS might use it, but it was not taught to them by the staff here.

Tom, I’m quite sure that debate will happen, that Caner and White will arrive separately in custom-made giant pumpkin-shaped coaches drawn by unicorns, and that the debate will be moderated by a flying pig…
:-)
Great job guys. Ergun is the real deal. His thoughts and actions on this podcast are who he is and why he is loved and admired by many. A real man does as he did.
Dear Dr. Caner,
First, thank you for following biblical principles and confessing a personal offense in the same forum in which it was committed. God will bless this action.
Thank you, moreover, for defending the integrity of the Christian witness by demonstrating the theologico-methodological problems with the Camel Method.
Finally, thank you for demonstrating through your entire life and ministry Christian grace toward a lost and dying world by proclaiming the gospel far and wide.
Scott & David,
Thanks for your work on this podcast. I am sorry that I could not make it. Still running a fever from the stomach bug.
Dr. Caner,
I praise god for you and your ministry.
Blessings,
Tim
@Tom Parker.
James White has already said that he will debate Ergun caner anytime, in any place. He has said that he would fly down to Liberty on his dime and debate Ergun Caner whenever he wanted.
The choice for the two guys to debate falls on Ergun Caner’s hands.
As Ergun himself has said….
“I will debate anyone, anywhere at anytime”
James White has asked for the debate.
If Ergun Caner refuses then his statement above is a lie.
Tom,
I am kinda gray on what these guys would be debating….
What might be the main agenda of the debate?
Thanks,
Chris
oops, my name is Marcus not Tom Parker, sorry for that mistake.
It seems to me that Paul wasnt so much interested in debating other Christians, but was more interested in winning souls to the Lord Jesus. He went into the synagogues, where lost Jews were, or maybe saved Jews, who had not yet heard about Jesus, were. He went to Mars Hill, not to argue and debate with other Chrisitans, but to win those folks to the Lord.
Now, I know that Paul confronted Peter about Peter eating Kosher food and condemning pork chops when the Jewish crowd was around, and eating ribs and BBQ sandwiches at the Pork Shack when he was with the Gentile crowd; but was Paul’s main aim in life to debate other Christians??? Do we see any of the Apostle’s spending a whole lot of time in debates and arguements???? It looks to me, as I read the NT, that they were more concerned with preaching and teaching the Bible and winning lost people to Jesus.
Thus, if most of Dr. Caner’s “debates” are him talking to Muslims and others about the Messiah; then amen, Dr. Caner.
David
Brother Marcus,
I’m also thinking down the same lines as brother Vol here. What would be so interesting about a debate between Caner and White? They are both confessing believers in Christ.
They obviously have different systems of thought concerning the “ordo salutis”…. Is that what this big debate thing is about?
Or is there something deeper?
Blessings,
Chris
To All,
Comments #8,9,11, & 12 will stand but I need to make a statement. This podcast does not concern the topic in these comments. While some may desire such a debate this is not the arena for the discussion. Any further comments that are not on topic in this comment stream will be removed.
Blessings,
Tim
OK,…quick trigger :)
Tim, what I think the podcast illustrates is Dr. Caners willingness to be a man of God. Many like to throw out meaninless aspersions because of “ordo salutis” kingdom mud wrestling. I hope Caner stays above that luring to get into the ring for the latest grudge match.
Even though I don’t think that the Caners are any more persecuted than the next follower of Christ willing to open their mouth with the gospel,….I do appreciate his willingness to repent and clear recognition of wrong to a fellow believer. Maybe that can occur with White and Caner respectively before the tickets are sold to any mud wrestling event.
Blessings,
Chris
Dr. Caner,
Thank you for giving your time to SBCToday on this podcast to address these important issues that crop up among the brothers that serve the same Lord. Your willingness to recognize the wrongs directed to fellow brothers that are in the same mission is an indication of the power of the Spirit that works mightily in the lives of the adopted of God.
Also, after reading very early this morning, a post you have made on your website, it is apparent that wisdom has prevailed. I like your clarification of the term debate. Since by narrowing the definition of such, arrogance is either identified or extinguished.
Blessings,
Chris
