Words of Explanation

As many of our readers have noticed we are sporadic at best in our posting.  This is not a result of being ADD as some of you may wonder.  :)  However, it is a result of hectic schedules and losing contributors.

In the spirit of the guys over at SBC Impact, we would like to ask for your indulgence with us as we try to sort through the various bumps in the road that have come our way.  We are presently trying to secure another contributor to replace those who have needed to step aside.  We believe that it is not good for a trustee of an SBC Entity to publicly express his disagreement or opinion concerning other entities.  Thus, Brothers Bart and John stepped aside after they were voted into their positions of denominational service.  Brother Robin has embarked upon a much tougher schedule concerning his studies and he felt it was best for him to step aside temporarily in order to devote the time needed for his studies.  We did add Dr. Bill Tomlinson and he has yet to contribute his first article.  One of the ‘challenges’  to having people over 60 as a contributor is their lack of computer savy (just ask us some time about Tim, too! :-) ).  Brother Bill is learning from scratch how to post and all of the ins and outs of blog world.

This means an extra amount of work on the rest of us as we proceed.  With this in mind we are currently praying about adding others to our list of contributors to give our readers the kind of coverage we believe is needed of current SBC issues.  Our vision today remains the same as it did when we began: Restoring unity through Biblical Discipleship and Baptist Identity.

We have a Christmas post scheduled for December 21, 2009 for your enjoyment.  We encourage you to spend time with your family and churches during the Christmas season.  Use this time to reflect on the blessings of the gift of God in your life.  It will be some time after January 1, 2010 before we get back on a regular schedule of posting articles.  Pray for us as the Lord leads.

You ruined my thoughts pertaining to the slow down – I thought you guys had run out of stuff to say :)! Now you go and give a valid excuse – no fun in that!

  4. David Rogers says:

No fair. Now my comment doesn’t make any sense. Just playing with you. I see people spell “lose” l-o-o-s-e all the time, for some reason.

    David,

Sorry, I didn’t read the comments. When I learned Tim had written a post I hadn’t yet proofread, I was quite focused on checking the grammar, punctuation, subject/verb agreement, and the like. Oddly, that use of the wrong word was the only mistake I found to correct. So he’s improving…

    :)

  6. Tim Rogers says:

    Brother David,

Thanks for the grammatical humor that I failed to find in my proofing. ;)

    Brother Wes,

Thanks for correcting my blunder. I also would like to add that you did not need to add that statement about me after I set Brother Bill up so eloquently. :)

    Blessings,
    Tim

I left some suggestions over at IMPACT that I believe would greatly help those guys.

As I thought about it, I came to realize that you guys over here at SBC TODAY probably need to implement these suggestions even more so than do the guys over at IMPACT. Most of you guys are SOONERS and TARHEELS. So no doubt you are desperate to take advantage of my benevolent offer.

So, here are my suggestions to IMPACT for you to consider here at SBC TODAY:

“I think IMPACT should be dedicated to informing the lesser football conferences about the greatness of the SEC and about the flagship of the SEC; The SABANATION.

I believe that such an endeavor on the part of IMPACT would inspire all of you of the lesser conferences to aspire to greatness in all areas of your lives.

It would also help you all to begin to eat more B-B-Q and stop eating all that bland food which makes your lives and sermons so boring.

I would be glad to meet with you guys and do a seminar to help you get started.

I am sure that Vol and some of the other SEC guys like would be glad to come and help also.

I realize you of the lesser conferences think we of the SEC are only about slaughter and leaving your nations in hopelessness when we come through. But in truth, we are often very benevolent to the underprivileged during the off-season.”

    CB,
Have you read Ronnie Floyds predictions? He has Texas over Alabama. Sounds like a theological difference to me!

  9. cb scott says:

    Tim G.,

Arkansas was birthed as an Independent and crawled into in the SWC to keep the program from going under. They won 13 SWC Championships. Big deal. The SWC is nothing more than the top conference of all the other Jr. High Football Conferences. They came beggin’ the SEC for a chance at Big League Football in 1992. We let them in as a benevolent act seeking to help the self-image of the state which had suffered greatly due to having been the birth place of Bill Clinton. The SEC is always benevolent in the off seasons to little fellows like Razorbacks and such.

Since that time they have come to the “Big Show” three times and have become B-B-Q Hawg meat every time. They will never win the SEC Championship.

TO WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP JUST AIN’T IN ‘EM.

I give you the above absolute factual history, my brother, in order to make the following point.

Ronnie Floyd is from Arkansas. What on earth could he possible know about a National Championship football game?

TO KNOW SUCH THINGS JUST AIN’T IN ‘IM.

Bless their hearts. It is just an Arkansas thing. They just can’t help it.

    ROLL TIDE
