It’s Not Goodbye, Just See Ya Later
Posted byOver two years ago I had the privilege to form this blog with friends who were of common mind and interest. Before that I was a rogue
blogger on my own, speaking about various issues including topics on the Southern Baptist Convention. So, for over three and a half years I have spent an enormous amount of time interacting with many of you. It has been quite a learning experience and I have benefited from this venture. I thank you all for taking the time out to converse with me over issues we are passionate about. But the time has come for me to break away to pursue other interests, namely leading the church I pastor in reevaluating how we reach others for Christ in our changed culture (from attractional [programs] to incarnational [process]) and producing my dissertation on the Great Commission. To do this will require my focus (outside of God and family which comes first) to be on these two important aspects of my ministry.
Therefore, I am taking a long hiatus from SBCToday. While I will still contribute an article occasionally and show up for a podcast or two, my participation in the day to day management and decision making of this site with the other resource managers has ceased for the foreseeable future.
I thank all the guys here at SBCToday for their friendships and support as we have been a united voice of Baptist Identity and biblical discipleship. There are a lot of things that I reflect upon and stand amazed at how God has used us to affect His work in the SBC. There have also been some learning experiences that have tempered us all. For that I am gratefully humbled. All together Wes, Tim, Scott, and Joe are all fine men and I count it a privilege to have served with them in this blogging adventure.
God bless to all!
Bro. Robin

Robin,
Our journey together in these Baptist blogs some call Blogtown has been interesting to say the least. But it is one that I would not trade and I do treasure. I highly respect you as an honorable man, a Christian brother and someone to ride the river with any day.

Robin,
.
Word on the street is that SBC Today has narrowed the perimeters so much that you are being forced out
Seriously, we wish you well in your family, ministry, and seminary.

What can I say? Three years ago if we saw each other on the street, there may have been a scrap the likes of a boy named Sue may have fled.
Kidding aside, it is men like you that have pushed me to be a better theologian and writer with a swift kick at times and a word of encouragement other times. You were in the thick of the CR when I was still a heathen chasing girls in college. Thanks for your faithfulness to pass on a viable convention to men like me.
I will be back soon, but until then I will ride that boat with you any day. As long as we are on the same river.
David
If there is one phrase I would describe you as is, “Christian Gentleman.” I enjoyed our brief time in Louisville. Keep the faith. After all, that is all God demands.

DR Foster,
You are a good man. I’ve seen you grow much. If it had not been for controversial discussions, I would not know you. So I’m glad we are in the trenches together. I’m glad Dwight connected us.
Preach the word! And congrats beforehand….
DR!

Thanks for the prayers. I especially need them
Chris
You are another commenter I think of that made me dig deeper in the scriptures. You challenged me and I respect you for your Christian dialog. Thanks
Dr. Alan
I am glad Dwight connected us also. We definitely have to get together when we have the chance and talk preaching.
God Bless

Robin,
Did not realize you were going off the air when we spoke at the BGCO. May God bless your efforts and come back soon so I can read your mind on the printed page. Appreciate much your commitment to the word of God.

Thanks for the encouraging words. Yes, I will be hovering. The big change is that I won’t post as regularly and I will be out of the management decisions. I will be back though. Maybe
Carl
Good to see you at the BGCO. Sorry I wasn’t able to discuss my recent move here. I still had to talk with the other guys about it, which I was able to do on Wednesday. We are all good friends here and I wanted to have their blessing in this. They were extremely gracious. These are all good men and I have counted myself blessed to have been with them.
Keep fighting the good fight.

Brother Robin,
I will be out of the management decisions… Who around here makes management decisions? I am asking for a raise from SBC Today. I am now making management decisions which means I have advanced and should be getting compensated for my intellectual property rights.
Blessings,
Tim
