I recently received in an email a link to this video about the work of NAMB Chaplain Robert Toney. To access the article click here. There has been a lot of discussion and buzz as of late concerning NAMB. Being a former missionary/church planter with NAMB, I continue to see the vital role this agency plays in Southern Baptist Life. While I do agree that a refocus of purpose and strategy is needed, I can look to the work of people like Bro. Toney and see that our cooperative program dollars are going to great causes where God is doing a tremendous work. Let us all take a minute and thank God for His grace and mercy that He provides through missionaries we support like Chaplain Toney. Let us also remember those Chaplains like Bro. Toney who are going into the darkness of our society and giving these inmates another chance to turn to Christ.

There’s a better, longer version of this video that tells more of the story, from the Prison Ministry episode of OMX: http://www.onmission.com/site/c.cnKHIPNuEoG/b.5085815/k.9F33/Prison_Ministry.htm
Good post, Robin. I am new to the whole analysis of NAMB that is apparently going on in conjunction with GCR. I agree with you “pro” mention in this post. Praise God for people going to the “least of these”. What do you consider to be a con to NAMB?
Bless those who work in prison ministries. We were all prisoners once.
Did all the contributors to this blog join up with the Amish and sign off on the use of modern technology? Or did they get struck blind and can not see to post anymore? Is anybody at home over here? Can I take over this blog? I got a good whiskey post I want to put up.
I know what it is. They all ran off because the SABANATION is on the prod and they are all from sissy football nations and don\’t want to get trampled to death.
That is it. Tar Heels, Sooners, Longhorns, Jayhawkers and such. All sissy football nations running from the SABANATION.

Brother CB,
I understand that the SABANATION will meet their Waterloo this weekend. :)
I tell you what Tim.
You load the wife and youngun’ up and drive on down here. We will feed you a whole bunch of chicken and dumplings on Saturday made for a bunch of fresh killed and cleaned Game Roosters for South Carolina. We will feed y’all till ye can’t eat no mo’ and then you can stay over and preach for us on Sunday. And afterwards we will eat leftover Pork B-B-Q we got from some folks from Arkansas and when you get ready to go I will give your youngun’ a Bulldog puppy I found wandering around on the interstate down in Mississippi last week.
Down here in the SABANATION we always try to find homes for sickly bulldogs what done been stepped on by an Elephant.
Later on I might send you a couple of Tiger cubs to play with your sweet youngun’s new Bulldog puppy. And you don’t have to worry ’bout them Tiger cubs being mean. We’ll tame um down real good ‘fore we send um to ye.
