It certainly is a tradeoff, but as we were getting some very long comment sections, with people at comment #120 referring back to something said in comment #8, we just thought this might simplify things a bit. Of course, it does so at the expense of being able to go right to the end to see the latest, but that's the tradeoff. In the sidebar under recent comments, a click on the name of the post will take you directly to that recent comment, whether it's at the end or in the middle somewhere. Thanks for your kind words. It certainly is a tradeoff, but as we were getting some very long comment sections, with people at comment #120 referring back to something said in comment #8, we just thought this might simplify things a bit. Of course, it does so at the expense of being able to go right to the end to see the latest, but that’s the tradeoff.

Whenever new comments are made, I have to search up and down the comment stream to find them, instead of looking at the bottom of the stream, like normal. I see what you are trying to do by grouping answers to specific comments next to the comments they are answering. But, in my honest opinion, I think it muddies things up more than it helps.
