SBC Perspective Episode 3:

Brothers,
I am glad that you are continuing to spotlight church discipline and how it functions biblically. The more it is heard or read,…. the more people can know that God provides a way for sinners to love one another and for His church to be edified for His Glory.
Since church discipline has been ignored by the majority of SBC churches, it will take a continued reminder, as you have done here, to demonstrate that God has made provisions for members to be one of another.
Ephesians 4:30-32 “Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. (31) Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. (32) Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other, just as God in Christ also has forgiven you.”
Good segment,
Blessings,
Chris

Chris,
Thank you for the encouragement. I think you understand as well as we do that loving admonition and discipline are as integral to the health of the local church as is forgiveness and mercy.

Brother Scott,
I agree my friend,…..
We should rush to forgiveness ….. Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came and said to Him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? Up to seven times?” (22) Jesus *said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
As well as rush to discipline…. Matthew 18:15-17 “If your brother sins, go and show him his fault in private; if he listens to you, you have won your brother. (16) “But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that BY THE MOUTH OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY FACT MAY BE CONFIRMED. (17) “If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector.
Our brothers and sisters are worth rejoicing with…..
Matthew 18:13-14 “If it turns out that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine which have not gone astray. (14) “So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones perish.
Blessings,
Chris
