Hello from Indy

Just a note to all our readers. All of us from SBC Today have made it to the Convention. I have had a wonderful time seeing everyone and having great fellowship. I have heard some people ask, “When are you guys going to start live blogging?” Well, we probably won’t do a lot of that, but we want to get some of the important stuff from the convention out to you, our readers, as quick as possible. Hopefully as soon as we hear who the next prez is, we will get that on the site pretty quick.

Concerning the next prez, many feel the run off will be between Cox and Hunt. Dr. Hunt had a great sermon last night and it spoke from his heart about Southern Baptists getting serious about prayer and revival. I can AMEN that. I also got to meet Frank Cox. I was thoroughly impressed with that meeting and felt reassured about our support of him. We also got to see Les Puryear and his wonderful wife. Les is really a likeable guy. I also hear there is a picture of Les and Peter Lumpkins floating around out there. It just might make the blogs somewhere. :-D If you haven’t been talked to by the Wagner for president team, then you haven’t been to the convention. Really, they are going around seeking support for him.

I want to conclude with saying that Indianapolis is a great city and a great pick for the SBC to have her meeting. Nearly all the down town area is connected under a roof and the heat is not anywhere as bad as San Antonio was. If they would chose to come here again, they would have my vote.

More updates will come as important information comes out.

I also talked with Dr. Cox today, he is great man and I was taken away by how personable he is. He will be a great president.
