Robert,

I don't really have a dog in this hunt. It doesn't matter to me who wins. I disagree with Pastor Johnny on several matters but I could not imagine him saying what you said that he said.

Could you provide any proof or a link to where he told us to ignore scripture?

Sincerely,

ABClay

Robert,

It is a fact that I support Frank Cox for president and will continue to so.

Yet, for you to say Johnny Hunt has told us to ignore Scripture is just not true. He may not adhere to the same view of specific doctrines as do you or me, for that matter, but he would never tell you or anybody to ignore Scripture.

Frankly, I don't think any man who is currently a candidate for the position of president of the SBC would say such a thing.

Maybe you are just saying this to get a rise from someone. Well, it really did not work here. I would have said this to you even if Johnny Hunt was my blood oath enemy. And he is not.

What you have said is just simply not true and that is all there is to it.

Perhaps Bro. Wiley has been listening too closely to the prevarications being heard on the campaign trail this political season.

Let me go on record saying that if your daughter ever, EVER pulls for Auburn, you should step down from the ministry pronto!

John,

The Auburn part would be. Only poorly discipled children ever do such things.

I suppose I will offend some of my best friends on this one.
First of all, I am NOT for women preachers.
Secondly, I am for FRANK COX and his daughter is just now finishing high school and has no intentions of being a preacher.
But I do think that our folks are unfair to criticize Wiley Drake or Avery Willis for their respective daughter's serving as pastors, if the men themselves do not condone women pastors.
My children are 22 and 19 and are great children. However, if one of them did something drastic such as join a CBF church, vote Democratic, or pull for Auburn, would that be my fault? BTW, those are about the worst three actions I can imagine.

scott: I thought the answer was clear. He will follow what scripture says. He said several times, it doesn't matter what his opinion is, it's what scripture says that matters. I had no trouble understanding him. As for his daughter, Wiley answered honestly and also said that he believes the Bible clearly says that women should not be pastors. He shouldn't be held accountable for his daughter's beliefs.
