Tim,

I would haul a SABANATION rocking chair to Iraq on the back of a Camel for that boy that he may be properly taught the proper football nation for which to cheer come every fall of the year, especially if it will help keep him from becoming a TAR HEEL. :-)

Brother CB,

If you and Bob hang around with me a little more you may find yourself repenting of much more. :>)

I had a great time. I cannot believe you hauled a Alabama rocker all the way to NC.

Blessings,
Tim

I have come to realize Malcolm Yarnell is a man of true grit. I have repented for thinking him to be otherwise.

Bowden,

Thanks for the comment. We plan to do as many as opportunities allow. We've got another one coming in a day or so, as Tim was also able to sit down for a visit with Ed Stetzer.

Tim (and other contributors),

I really appreciate the interviews. A temptation of blogs is to talk past each others: quoting a sentence or a paragraph and then reacting to it.

Listening to an mp3 forces me to hear the whole of what someone is saying.

I appreciate the feature and look forward to hearing more interviews.

Tim,

Good questions….

Dr. Yarnell was very forthright and I appreciate the work he is doing with the seminarians.

I thought his views on the aspects of Calvinism and how that it is perceived within the Baptist circles is realistic. Most of the Baptist’s that I am around use Calvin as a buzz word, and probably really have no real understanding of who he is or what he has taught.

As I have always said….I think Calvin could learn a thing or two from a well informed Baptist,…which is evidenced by some of the traditions that Calvin captive in his day. But on certain issues of the faith,…Calvin gives us amazing insight.

I also believe Dr. Yarnell is accurate to lead our minds to “restitution” thinking, and not necessarily “reformation” thinking. Restoring biblical faith and practice is and should remain the hallmark. The reformers did a great deal of restitution….but we should continue to fight the good fight of faith.

Blessings,
Chris

Tim

Thanks for taking time to interview Dr. Yarnell. His thoughts were insightful to the situation in the SBC.

Dr. Yarnell,

Thank you for your time and I pray that the Lord will continue to bless you as you prepare young men and women to reach the world for Christ.
